This round, a quick turn away from the climate change sadnesses of the world to look at a few lovely things.
And in case you were wondering, here’s how my Summer Book Bingo played out. Shy of a full blackout but got 2 bingos and as always, great reading fun. My favorite reads: Connie Willis’s short stories (amazeballs), Flora & Ulysses by Kate DiCamillo (just delightful), and Calamities by Renee Gladman (fascinating). Oh and Four Seasons in Rome by Anthony Doerr (so well written). You Think That’s Bad by Jim Shepard blew my mind too now that I think about it. Then too there was Sacre Bleu (hilarious) and Citizen (essential) (can you get more polar opposite than those?). As always, thanks for Seattle Public Library and Seattle Arts & Lectures for such a fun thing.
